La noche de nuestro Planeta no es completamente oscuras. La luz de las estrellas, la luz zodiacal (luz solar reflejada el el polvo interplanetario), la luminiscencia atmosférica (átomos y moléculas de la atmósfera que brillan en la noche después de estar irradiadas por el Sol durante todo el día) o la Luna iluminan la noche, de forma natural, creando gran variedad de Paisajes Nocturnos. Lo que hasta ahora solo podía captar el ojo humano ahora es posible plasmarlo en fotografías usando cámaras y técnicas digitales.
El fin de Tierra y Estrellas es fomentar el respeto al medio natural dando a conocer ecosistemas únicos usando el poder de atracción de la Astronomía. En el portal encontrarás fotografías de Paisajes Nocturnos y Grandes Espectáculos del cielo (Eclipses, Auroras y Tormentas de Estrellas) tomadas desde Áreas Naturales Protegidas. Las principales actividades del proyecto Tierra y Estrellas son:
1) Crear y mantener un portal web bilingüe (castellano tierrayestrellas.com e inglés starryearth.com) con un gestor fotográfico.
2) Difusión de la Astronomía y de las Áreas Naturales protegidas.
